Over the last 20 years, Dr Held has worked in the reinsurance industry in finance, risk management, underwriting and natural catastrophe risk assessment. Prior being with PERILS, he spent 14 years at Swiss Re where his last role was CFO for Swiss Re in Asia, based in Hong Kong. Other prior functions within Swiss Re included the responsibility for capital modelling and planning, relationship to Rating Agencies, Group-wide accumulation control for natural catastrophe risks and the building of a model for the assessment of European storm risk.
